Mitch & Christine's Forest House Lodge Wedding | Foresthill, CA

Can I shout it from the rooftops? I GOT TO BE A GUEST AT A WEDDING! Okay, not the whole wedding, but the reception :) Mitch is one of my husband's best friends and when he and Christine got engaged I offered to shoot the prep, ceremony, and portraits for them. My hubby was one of the groomsmen and the entire wedding was filled with some of our favorite people. For the reception I suggested that they hire the very talented Anita Martin Photography - Anita captured so many great moments while I got to sit down with a drink in my hand and enjoy the wedding sans camera. It was a blast! So, a bit about Mitch and Christine. How many wives truly love their husband's friends? I do. I am so lucky that Will and I have had Mitch in our lives since the day we met. We have so many great memories shooting the breeze on our patio, BBQing, camping, and other fun life events. When we heard that the ever-single Mitch (sorry Mitch! haha) was dating someone, Will and I were so excited to meet her because we knew that she must be awesome. From the day we met Christine we knew that she was "the one" for our friend Mitch. She is one of the most laid back, funny, and kind people that I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She understands Mitch's sarcasm and dry sense of humor and knows how to dish it back. I've always felt like one of the guys in our circle of friends and Christine is the same way. Hanging out with Mitch and Christine is one of my favorite things to do and one of the things I miss most about living in Sacramento.

Words cannot describe how happy I am that they found one another. They are two peas in a pod, best friends, and I know that their marriage will last a lifetime. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives and a part of your wedding day!

The Bailey Family's Beach Session in Seattle

It had been over 2 years since I shot a family on the beach. When I lived in Southern California that was my specialty, but here in Seattle folks tend to lean towards parks or urban location. Why? Well, the beaches here are freezing 9 months out of the year! Luckily it was a warm August day when the Bailey family met me at a local beach for their family session. The beaches are beautiful here in Seattle and much different/more unique than in Southern California. I had a blast playing with the two boys who are a similar age to my own son. They collected shells, got their feet wet, threw rocks into the water, and waved at the passing trains.

Blake & Ben's one year family session

I've photographed these boys in their mommy's tummy and now outside :) Blake, Ben, and their mom and dad were in Seattle for a visit all the way from Sacramento, CA. I had a great time meeting their grandmas and grandpas who all live locally in and around the Kirkland area. These two little men sure are loved!
