Beth & Kevin's Seattle Lake House Wedding

Beth worked for Seattle University and Kevin worked for Microsoft. I say that in the past tense because right before their wedding they both took an indefinite leave of absence and moved to Viatnam to do charity work. A lot of their wedding revolved around that theme and their wedding was a final bash to say goodbye to their family and friends before a grand adventure.

Their wedding took place at their lake house outside of Seattle, WA. The smell of BBQ combined with the sounds of live reggae to create a magical, exciting evening that reminded me of my childhood summers. As I was taking photos I kept thinking to myself, "This is the kind of wedding I'd love to be a guest at." As it was I had a pretty great time as their photographer too :)

Anna Victoria + Luca's San Francisco Engagement Session

I know Anna's sister through the photography community, so when she reached out to me inquiring about photographing her sister's wedding in Rome I knew that someone was not playing a cruel prank on me. I've traveled a lot for weddings, but never internationally. Heck, I've never been off of this continent (unless you count Hawaii). When I found out that Anna was THE Anna Victoria, Instagram sensation and fitness boss extraordinaire, I was a little nervous. I won't lie. However, the moment I began emailing with Anna I knew that she was an amazing, down to earth gal no different than she portrays herself online. We Skyped from 6,200 miles a part and I knew I just HAD to have them for clients. She and Luca were sweet, kind, bubbly, and fun.

Well, the rest is history and in 32 days I embark on my first journey overseas to photograph their wedding in Rome. For their engagement session they decided to come to San Francisco (okay, it was also technically for Thanksgiving with her family, haha). Luca proposed in dramatic fashion high atop the city, a photo you can find on Anna's Instagram feed :) We started off by the coast where our sunny day was temporarily interrupted by a brief shower. We then headed down to Golden Gate Park for some greenery upon Luca's request, and finally up the hill to capture the urban goodness of San Francisco. They danced in the street without a care in the world while I tried to make sure that none of us got hit by a car.

I cannot wait to see these two again and photograph what is sure to be an amazing, special wedding in ROMA! <3

Styled Bridal for BHLDN

Last year when I still had *the* most amazing studio in all of Seattle I had the opportunity to do a styled bridal shoot with BHLDN. Our models were all real girls, something I felt passionately about. BHLDN has created a niche market of affordable, stylish gowns that are accessible to nearly any bride on any budget. If you're lucky enough to live near an Anthropologie with a BHLDN studio inside I highly suggest you go and swoon over the gowns. They are even more beautiful in person than they are in photographs. If I were getting married I have no idea how I'd choose.
