Giving my husband a heart attack + KCRA 3 A-List

Sooo....I'm currently in 14th place in the Photography category for the KCRA A-List! I don't expect to win, but heck, if you wanted to vote and get me in the top 10 I would be THRILLED! And, I just had to share this...I was talking to Will about my website last night. He said that he was looking at my "About Me" page a few days ago and about had a heart attacked. I guess on first glance he saw the arrow and the "Baby #2" and thought it was pointing at my stomach. SURPRISE!!!!!!!!! haha. Poor guy. I am perfectly content with my camera being my 2nd baby...for now ;)

And, just because he's too cute not to share....the Baby #1 himself!

Gabi & Emanuel | Sacramento Engagement Session

I am going to be photographing their wedding on June 12th at Arden Hills County Club, but in the mean time, it was time for engagement photos! Both Gabi and Emanuel are fellow Mira Loma High School grads - Emanuel graduated the year before I did and I had no idea that I knew him until we met at the wedding consultation. Gabi works with my friend Logan, which is how they found me. Small world, huh? Love that! It was a mild Sunday evening when we did their engagement photos in Old Sacramento. Clouds were just starting to move in, giving us beautiful, diffused light (photographers love that!) It was busy- people everywhere. We basically hit every niche - the river, the train tracks, old buildings, allyways, the murals under the tunnel, and even the dumpster area of The Firehouse! They were both SO NATURAL in front of the camera. At one point I was at a loss for words and just told Gabi, "....be FIERCE!' and by golly, did she give me fierce!

Without further ado (and yes, I had to Google how to spell that)....

This is the exact bench where Emanuel gave Gabi her promise ring. That day, they carved their initials into the bench. They were still there! (M is for his nickname!)

Karrie's Maternity Session

My very first maternity session was with my sister (see post below) last Saturday. On Wednesday, I did my second maternity session. I LOVE MATERNITY. I will shout it from the roof tops! Anyone who knows me knows that I have a major passion for weddings. Well, I have the same for maternity. I feel so blessed to be able to photograph such a special time in a woman's life and I truly hope that these gorgeous woman can recognize just how stunning they are. Karrie, her hubby and their 3 year old daughter drove all the way up from the Stockton/Modesto area to have a shoot with me. I was telling my husband that I get a  bit nervous when people drive an hour and a half just for my photos. I joked with Karrie and told her the same thing...her response, "Well, I'm obviously getting something out of it!" hehe. We spent a little over an hour at the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area in Granite Bay. Everything was green which won't last long around Folsom Lake! Karrie is pregnant with their second baby girl, due in April (doesn't she look fab?!)
