Baby Kaydriana | Newborn & Lifestyle Photography

Meet my gorgeous 3 week old niece, Kaydriana! Photographers normally aim to photograph newborns within the first 10 days but since I had to fly to Seattle, we had to do 3 weeks...and let me tell ya, this girl wanted to stay wide awake for her photos! I had a difficult time posing her so I decided to move the family part of the session to their master bedroom. It helped that my sister and her husband have a gorgeous bed with a fluffy white comforter and huge windows. If only every home looked like this - it would make my job so easy!

I'm so in love with this little girl and had the privelige of watching her for almost 4 hours while my sister got her hair done- only the 2nd time my sister had been away from her and by far the longest and furthest away!

I'm sad that the next time I get to see her she will probably be crawling. I sure wish we lived closer!

If you have a room in your house with ample light (usually large windows or a sliding glass doors) and can un-clutter, don't hesitate to ask for a Lifestyle session - your house can be the most beautiful and natural place to photograph your family!

Kailyn | Just your basic photo shoot!

Kailyn is my nearly 16 year old cousin-by-blood but sister-by-choice :) We just wanted to go out and have some fun. I guess that's what you do when you have a photographer in the family. I drove up Salmon Falls Drive in El Dorado Hills for about 10 mins looking for a new place to shoot. It was already 7:15pm and I was worried about the sun going down behind the hills. I was looking for this park (that I actually think is on a road that runs parallel to Salmon Falls) but found this little gem instead, tucked right off of the road. I love spontaneity in photography. We just drove and I am so pleased with how the session turned out! Kailyn humored me and let me dress her up in my clothes and accessories. She rocks the serious face!

Tiela & Chris | Auburn Wedding ~ May 23rd, 2010

Tiela and Chris made me nearly cry two times, and actually cry one time. It was their custom vows, the beautiful toasts attesting to how wonderful of parents they are, and when Tiela walked out in her mother's wedding dress as a surprise to everyone. Yep, they got me. Their ceremony and reception was held at the Power Mansion Inn in the center of Old Auburn. The weather was absolutely gorgeous- clear and cool. As a photographer, I dream of weddings like this one. Thank you Tiela and Chris for allowing me to be a part of your big day. I was so impressed with your families and your beautiful little boys. You have a wonderful life ahead of you!
