They are home! | A Marine Homecoming

All of the emails, all of the long distance phone calls, all of those times when they wished that their loved ones were home, all of those nights spend worrying, all of those months gone by...and finally they are home. I had the honor of photographing this special event for a young lady named Katie who was axiously awaiting her boyfriend, Frank, to get home. Frank serves in the Delta Company out of 29 Palms, CA and had been in Afghanistan for the past year.

I drove out to the desert filled with anticipation and excitement which was amplified even more as I passed the 3 buses about 40 miles outside of the base. I had to choke back tears when I saw people standing on the street corners, still 20 miles from base, holding flags and signs saying, "Welcome Home, Troops!" I'm not very familiar with military life, heck, I'd never even been on a base before, but something that I do know is that I am forever grateful for the service and sacrafice of these young men and women. It was truly an honor to have been a part of this special day.

The Gorgeous "A" | Scottsdale/Southern California Boudoir Photographer

When I received an email from this lovely lady asking me if I was willing to fly to Scottsdale to photograph her boudoir session, I said two words. Can you guess? "Heck yes!" (wow, that rhymed...how nerdy) So, off I headed to the amazing Hotel Valley Ho and the gorgeous Arizona desert which is actually where I spent my first 6 years of life (Tucson, to be exact). I love shooting in new venues and the hotel that we chose was so awesome and perfect for boudoir photography. The colors were funky and the whole room was ultra modern. We chose the room just for the tub, obviously. It was large enough for 4 people. I won't ask...haha. The room was larger than my entire apartment here in Southern California and the patio was large enough told hold a 100 person party. I felt cool just staying there! Gah, isn't she gorgeous?? I would DIE for her pretty, glowy skin. Not fair at all.

The Brown Family | Folsom Family Photographer

I've known Paul for a few years now - in fact, we first met at my previous job where he was one of my clients. He's been a great supporter of my photography business ever since I started out. I've heard great things about his beautiful wife and daughters so it was a pleasure to finally meet them. The girls are 5 and 7 and gave me one of my favorite family photos that I've ever shot - the one of them being held by their parents and leaning back. Love! I hope Paul & Carolyn's backs didn't hurt too much afterwards ;) No pain, no gain! Thanks again you guys!
