The Glace Family | Southern California Family Photographer

Eek! I'm a little behind on blogging, which isn't usually typical for me :) Bobby just returned from Afghanistan a couple of months ago, an event that I was lucky enough to witness. While he was gone, I did a session for just Nikki and Olivia (seen here) so that Bobby would have some new photos of his girls while he was away.

I headed out to Twentynine Palms to photograph them as a complete family :) I find the desert to be so, so beautiful. I love the neutral colors and warm, gorgeous light.

Thanks guys for including me in your journey!

Jeff & Cherill's Serrano Country Club Wedding | El Dorado Hills Wedding Photographer

Jeff and Cherill are a sweet, kind couple. At their wedding consultation, they grilled me a bit harder than most people (which I welcome and encourage, by the way) so when they decided on the spot to hire me, I was extremely flattered. We did their engagement photos in Monterey and Carmel and they even treated me to Starbucks after we were done, which if you know me, you know that's one way to my heart (Starbucks, that is)! Photography was very important to them so I knew I needed to really deliver. Well, on their wedding day, boy, did they make it easy! A wedding day can be a stressful event, especially for the bride, but both Cherill and Jeff were calm as cucumbers and laughing all day long. When a couple is relaxed and truly having a good time at their wedding (and really, isn't that what every couple wants?) the wedding photography jumps to a new level simply because the photographer can take photos that show a gamut of emotions. Giant smiles and tears are my personal favorite ;)

Thank you, Jeff & Cherill! I had a wonderful time at your wedding and I consider you both friends.

Daaaaang, Jeff! You're a natural :)

Cherill, you are so beautiful!

I. Love. You. Muah! :)

During some of the formals, I asked Jeff and Cherill to kiss for a photo. Well, since their whole family was still milling around and watching, they did the fastest peck ever, so I joked that I needed more of a "real" kiss. Cherill, who has a great sense of humor, gave Jeff and unexpected, HUGE smooch. I love it!

...not to be outdone, Jeff's best man had to get in on the action.

They had quite the paparazzi during the speeches!

My 3rd photographer for the evening. What can I say, I start 'em young! haha

And the winner is... | The Unique Wedding Giveway!

I am so, so excited to show you the awesome wedding that I chose for my free wedding giveaway. I was looking for a wedding that was out of the box, unique, fun, spirited, and genuine. Well, I found that plus so much more.

I'd love to introduce to you, Laura and Edward!

Directly from her emailed entry:

An Old Broadway Wedding...

Since Ed and I are both theatrical performers, and we actually met while doing a show together in 1998, we have decided to get married ONSTAGE at the Rose Center Theater in Westminster, California. The Rose is a beautiful 400 seat theater, and it's a stage that Ed and I have shared together as well as performed on separately. The Managing Director of the Theater is actually a very good friend of ours, and he actually wrote the music to (and Directed) the show that we met in. If it weren't for him, we would have never met in the first place. The stage is where we feel at home, and it seemed that this was really the ONLY venue that made any sense to us. Most of our friends, and some of our family are also performers, but most of them have never been to a Theater Wedding. We really wanted to do something that people were going to remember, and was not going to blend in with every other wedding they've ever been to.

I will save the rest of the details for your viewing pleasure after their "most definitely going to be amazing" wedding on March 10th of next year. Every piece of Laura and Edwards wedding has a special feel and purpose- from the professional stage lights, to her handmade and designed wedding dress (which she showed me the plans for....OMG!), to their backgrounds on the stage and with dance. It will be party Broadway and part wedding....but ALL amazing :)

Congrats again Laura and Edward!!! I am so excited and honored to photograph your wedding!
